Challans, receipts, vouchers, admission forms, certificates, report cards and lists all print the same way. Qalamora prepares a PDF on the server and opens it in a new browser tab, where you print it or save it.
What happens when you click Print
- A small window shows that the printout is being prepared. You can keep working on the page behind it.
- When it is ready, the PDF opens in a new tab. Print it with your browser's print button or save it.
- If your browser blocked the new tab (this can happen when preparing takes a while), the window shows an Open PDF link. Click it.
Large batches, such as a whole month of challans, are split into parts that you open one by one.
Language and paper
- The printout uses the language you are using Qalamora in. Switch to Urdu at the top of the screen to print in Urdu. Labels can also be printed in both languages, set in Settings > Forms and printouts > Label language.
- Urdu text uses an embedded Nastaliq font, so it looks the same on every computer and printer.
- Printouts are monochrome ruled documents, made for office printers and photocopies.
- Each kind of printout has its own paper choice: challans and receipts in Fees > Fee setup > Rules and printing, vouchers in Accounts > Accounts setup, forms in Settings > Forms and printouts. Where a Paper menu is shown next to the print button, it changes the size for that print.
Privacy of printed files
- The download link works only for the person who asked for the printout and only for a few minutes. Each download is recorded in the audit log.
- Printed files are deleted from the server automatically after a few days. Print again any time; the data is always current.
Tip
If the printout looks small or cut off, check your browser's print settings: paper size must match the printout and scale should be 100 percent (or "Actual size").
