Two-factor sign-in asks for a 6-digit code from an app on your phone each time you sign in, so a stolen password is not enough. Owners and accountants must use it. The school can require it for other staff roles too.
Turn it on
- Open My account from the menu under your name.
- Click Turn on next to Two-factor authentication and confirm your password.
- Scan the code with Google Authenticator, Microsoft Authenticator or a similar app. If you cannot scan, type the key shown into the app.
- Enter the 6-digit code the app shows and click Turn on two-factor.
- Save your recovery codes. Each code works once if you lose your phone. Write them down or keep them in a safe place that is not the same phone, then click I've saved my codes.
If your role requires two-factor, Qalamora asks you to set it up right after your first sign-in and you cannot continue without it.
Signing in
After your password, open the app and type the current code for your school. Codes change every 30 seconds.
New phone or lost phone
- New phone, old phone still working: sign in, open My account, turn two-factor off and on again and scan the code with the new phone.
- Phone lost: on the code screen click Use a recovery code instead and enter one of your saved codes. Then set up two-factor again on the new phone and create new recovery codes.
- No recovery codes left: ask your school owner (or anyone with permission to manage users). In Users they click Reset two-step sign-in next to your name after checking it is really you. You are signed out everywhere; sign in with your password and set up two-step sign-in again.
- The owner is locked out: if the school has a second owner, they can reset it the same way. Otherwise email [email protected] from the owner email address on the account. Qalamora support verify the request (a call to the registered phone number and the school's details) before resetting it, which can take up to one working day. Support never asks for your password or codes.
Important
Never share codes or recovery codes with anyone, including people who say they are from Qalamora. Our support never asks for them.
