Qalamora can tell parents and staff about important events without anyone typing a message: a fee receipt when a payment is recorded, an absence alert when a student is marked absent, and more. The school owner chooses what is sent and where on Settings > Notifications.
Before you start
- Every login has a bell in the top bar. Messages In the app reach anyone who has a login, so parents need their logins first.
- SMS and WhatsApp need a message provider set up by the school under Settings > Message providers. SMS may cost money per message, depending on your provider.
Steps
- Open the page. Go to Settings > Customize and click Notifications.
- Switch each event on or off. Use the switch beside each event:
- Fee receipt: when a payment is recorded.
- Result published: when exam results are published.
- Absence alert: when a student is marked absent.
- Homework posted: when a teacher posts homework.
- Notice published: when a notice goes live.
- Leave decision: when a leave request is approved or declined.
- Pick the channels. Under each event that is on, tick In the app, SMS and/or WhatsApp.
- Set SMS quiet hours if you want them. Switch on SMS quiet hours and set From and Until, for example 21:00 until 07:00. Text messages wait until the quiet hours end. Messages in the app are not delayed.
- Save. Click Save.
What parents see
In-app messages appear under the bell and on the Notifications page of the parent's login, in the parent's own language. Each parent sees only messages about their own children.
مشورہ
Start with In the app for everything and add SMS only for the events parents really need at once, such as absence alerts. This keeps SMS costs low.
نوٹ
An event only happens if the module behind it is switched on. For example, homework notifications need the Homework module.
