Region and calendar

Set your school's time zone, date and money formats, Rs label, lakh grouping, language, weekly off days, school timings and session start month.

Settings > General (shown as Region and calendar on the Customize page) controls how dates, times and money look on every screen, receipt and printout, and which days the school is closed. The school owner sets it once, usually on the first day.

Steps

  1. Open the page. Go to Settings > General.
  2. Set Region and language.
    • Time zone: Asia/Karachi for Pakistan. Other zones are listed for schools in the Gulf and Asia.
    • Currency: PKR for Pakistani schools.
    • Date format: for example 15/04/2026, 15-Apr-2026 or 15 Apr 2026.
    • Time format: 12 hour (3:05 PM) or 24 hour (15:05).
    • Number grouping: 1,000,000 (international) or 10,00,000 (lakh and crore).
    • Rupee label: Rs, Rs. or PKR, as it should appear before amounts.
    • Default language: English or Urdu for new users. Each person can still pick their own language in My account.
  3. Set the School calendar.
    • School year starts in: April (most public and private schools in Pakistan) or August (Cambridge and similar schools).
    • Week starts on: the first day of the week on calendars.
    • Weekly off days: Sunday only, Friday and Sunday, Saturday and Sunday, or Friday and Saturday.
    • School starts and School ends: the daily school timings.
  4. Fill in the Contact details. School email, School phone and Address are shown to parents and printed on documents.
  5. Save. Click Save at the bottom of the page.

Where these choices show up

Screens, challans, receipts and reports show dates in your date format and amounts with your rupee label and grouping, for example Rs 1,25,000 with lakh grouping. Times follow your time zone, so a fee taken at 9:00 in the morning shows as 9:00 everywhere.

نوٹ

Changing the date or money format changes how existing records are displayed. It never changes the stored amounts or dates.

مشورہ

If many of your parents read Urdu, keep the default language English for staff and switch the label language of printouts to English and Urdu in Settings > Forms and printouts.
