How long does it take to start?
Your school address is ready right after payment. Add classes, fee plans and students the same day. See the first day checklist.
We already have students in Excel. Do we type them again?
No. Upload the Excel sheet, check the preview and the students are added together. Problems are shown row by row before anything is saved. See Import students from Excel.
Does it work in Urdu?
Yes. Every screen and printout works in English and Urdu, and each person picks their own language. Urdu printouts use an embedded Nastaliq font, so they look the same on every printer.
Who can see our school's data?
Only the staff, parent and student logins your school creates. Every record carries the school it belongs to and other schools cannot reach it. Owners and accountants sign in with a second step. See How your school data is protected.
Can we print 3-copy bank challans?
Yes. Bank, school and student copies on one sheet, on A4, Legal or Letter, or single slips, including receipt printer sizes. See Challan layouts and paper sizes.
Can parents pay fees online?
Parents see their challans and dues in their login and download the challan to pay at the bank. Online card and wallet payment for school fees needs a merchant account and is added per school when you have one.
How do parents get a login?
The school creates logins for a class at once and prints login slips, or sends the password by SMS. One parent login covers all their children. See Create parent and student logins.
Which SMS and WhatsApp services can we use?
WhatsApp Business (Cloud API), common Pakistani branded SMS gateways and Twilio. You connect your own account, so messages are charged by your provider at their rates. In-app notices to parents with a login cost nothing.
Can we run it on our own computer or server?
Yes. Qalamora runs on standard PHP and MySQL hosting, and there is a desktop edition that runs on one computer in your school. See the Desktop edition overview.
Do we need special computers?
No. It runs in a normal browser on a computer, tablet or phone. The fee counter works from the keyboard.
Is our old data safe if we switch modules off?
Yes. Switching a module off hides it; it never deletes records. Switch it back on and everything is there.
Can a wrong fee entry be deleted?
No, and that protects you. A wrong receipt is reversed with a reason, and an issued challan is changed through an approved change request, so the record always shows what happened. See Receipts, reprints and reversals.
What happens if we pay the subscription late?
The school keeps working for a short grace period, then becomes read-only until the invoice is paid. You can always view, print and export. Nothing is deleted. See Invoices, paying and late payments.
Can we stop any time?
Yes. Your subscription runs until the end of the paid period. You can export your data before you leave. See Download a copy of your data.
